Thanks for playing everyone!

How fun!

One of our favorite inexpensive date nights is to use a g.c. from our Discover card Cashback Bonus to go out to dinner. Then we will pick up a video at Family Video on the "nearly new" section and it only costs $1!

If you aren't one who likes to head out on the town, something that isn't to expensive is to find a meal that you can prepare together at home (a new receipe), enjoy a quiet candle lit dinner, then soak in the tub together(of course you need a big tub...more room:)) and then play games and enjoy the quietness and the alone time. We enjoy doing stuff like this, and I know its not for everyone, but if your hubby likes new recipes and doesn't mind cooking(which mine doesn't at all) then this can be a fun evening and very cheap too.

Act like a newcomer to your own town and check out cool attractions you should see online...we live in Indy, so there are a lot of web sites that aid this kind of date night...I think any town has places that are overlooked once you've been there awhile though. We've had family b-sit the kiddos and do things like symphony on the prarie or just walk down the artsy street of Indy checking things out (Mass Ave). It's fun to read reviews of places to eat before going too...you can order what everyone says they serve best just to try it-it ups the excitment of the outing. Cheapest date ever, picnic at a park. =o)

Hey Megs, I love your give-aways!

Some of my favorite memories of date nights have been some of the corny ones... like the time we had a "camp-out" and made pudgie pies over the grill and ate them by flashlight on the deck... or the time we had "slumber party" in the living room and blew up the air mattress and watched a movie and then slept there all night. We love to cook a nice "theme" meal together or go out to a nice dinner, but sometimes the little things are the most fun, even if Daniel rolls his eyes at me when I tell him my idea. He usually has fun in the end!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Something I hope to do a lot more... go out for coffee (not Starbucks; a coffee house...though B-N doesn't have many great coffee houses). We did that when we were first dating- go to a coffee house (Peoria had more than we do here though) and talk for hours, hang out, meet friends, meet new people too... good times! And cheap!

How fun, Megan!

One of our favorites:

Order-in Pizza Hut. 1/2 Taco, 1/2 Cheese...Stuffed Crust (with nacho cheese & maranara dipping sauce) and eat it all!!! Then hang out the rest of the evening playing a game or watching a movie!

I understand this is not available for most, but we get the unique opportunity to go snorkeling on our dates! It's so fun and good exercise. In the states we enjoyed dates on the tennis court.

We don't go on date often because we live so far from town and it takes lots of planning...but we like to play cards--like crazy 8's, war or hearts...after we put the kids to bed and in the winter it's fun to have a fire going and drink coffee together.

So Stu and I are possibly the most boring date nighters. :) We are so predictable...it's always out to eat, doing something...like an errand or buying somethng for our house...and then either a movie or sitting at a book store drinking coffee. We love it every time.

So I'm going to think of some fun, cheap things for us to do... But here's an idea for you now. (I have to make sure I qualify to win:)) We'll definitely have to do tennis during the summer, and for winter...i think it'd be fun to go cross country skiing through a park in our area, and then go home and have some kind of soup. Then we could watch a movie or sit in front of the fire and play games. That would be so fun!

Love you Meg.

One of my most favorite dates with Darin lasted a whole month :) Every night we would sit on our bed with snacks and a drink and play 3 rounds of UNO. We kept score (of course!) and at the end of the month the winner got to choose something...I cant remember what it was now. I LOVED it!

When my husband and I were dating, we went to Border's, purchased some MadLibs and coffee and played MadLibs until our stomachs hurt from laughing. Ahhh it was magical :) Happy Valentine's Day!

Here in Illinois, the winter can be sooooo looooong.... Our favorite winter date is to have kiddos spend an afternoon with gramps/gran and go SLEDDING! Race each other up the hill and down...It doubles as a good workout and it's FREE. It can also be done during daytime hours, for which babysitters are easier to find. In the summer, we like to fix the kids their dinner and put them to bed and then light candles on the deck and grill out a steak dinner just for the two of us. We eat and talk outside by the light of the stars and lightening bugs. And, we finish with ice cream cones. Sweet!

I would highly recommend the pack "Simply Romantic Nights" by Family Life. It has 24 sealed envelopes, 12 for the girl to plan for the guy and 12 vice versa. They are mostly themed but super fun. I get really into "themes" and so this is right up my alley (very teacher-ish). One of my faves is a fondue night one- spreading a blanket out on the floor and trying different types of fondue. They're a little... sensual but your hubbies will like them!
