Dream Board

We spent our time at MOPS creating Dream Boards.

I wasn't thrilled when I first realized what the meeting would be about.

Time spent cutting pictures and words out of a magazine to represent my dreams, felt like a waste of time. And then I got started.

My dream board became a visual representation of how God is working in my life. I found ways to display my relationship goals with my husband and kids. It has reminders of the things I am praying for, quotes that inspire me and Bible verses that focus me.

There is value in taking your goals and putting them in visual form. It has a way of solidifying them.

I plan on placing this board beside the chair in my bedroom where I do my devotions. I am excited to see how God will work on me in these areas and how he will answer my prayers over the coming year.

(Oh, and not that it's the same AT ALL, but it reminds me of the movie "The Women" where Meg Ryan makes that collage...)

You know, I probably wouldn't have been excited about doing it either, but maybe it's would do me a lot of good. I think it's good sometimes to sit down and even think about what your dreams are. Maybe I'll at least make a list...

thanks for the thought!

This is great Meg... I'm such a visual person. I think I could really enjoy doing something like that. Maybe I will sometime...it seems like it would give clarity, direction, and accoutability. Love you.

craft time isn't my favorite time at MOPS! we did these dream boards too, a couple years back. it was fun to think big and about the future. it's also nice to go back and look at it now!

You don't know me but I enjoy your gift of writing even if I am a single gal who grabs a briefcase in the morning and not a mom at this point in my life (but we have the same Jesus!).

I thought of you this morning when I read Psalm 144, especially verse 14:

There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.

Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.

Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

I praise Him that you are building walls in times of peace - what a legacy for your kids! (and btw, your kids do an awesome job of providing wordless Wednesday material).
