It's Here!

I am very excited to announce that Hearts at Home's newest book has finally been released! I'm Glad I'm a Mom contains over 50 stories written by moms (including me!). I am so excited about this book. There are stories that will make you laugh and cry! If you are interested in purchasing this resource it can be found at the Hearts Shoppe (www.heartsathome.org) as well as amazon and cbd.com!

I will also be giving away one copy of the book, so leave a comment on why you are glad you're a mom and I will have a drawing on Tuesday afternoon at 5 pm.

To find out why I'm Glad I'm a Mom, you'll have to read the book!

I'm glad I'm a mom whenever I hear my girls giggle with delight. It doesn't matter what causes it (well, playing in the toilet was questionable,) it always makes my day.

I'm glad I'm a mom when my kids are both sleeping. Just kidding! It's what I've always wanted to do. I've grown up around kids, my cousins, etc. and whenever they'd get upset, I'd hand them off to their moms for the ultimate comfort. I'm glad I'm a mom when it's my children who reach for me and they stop crying as soon as they're in my arms. Precious! :)

I was able to experience being a mom & then not (from fostering). I remember telling my friend that when you have a child you feel peaceful (I know this seems ironic) & that outings that would normally just be okay become great (mom alone time). I think what this means is that little ones make everything better.

I'm glad that I'm a mom because it's always been my heart's desire. I love to hear Noah say "Mommy" and wrap his little arms around my neck and give me a squeeze or give me a kiss! It warms my heart! I also love to watch him devolop and learn new things.

Why am I glad I'm a mom (other than the fact that I've dreamed of being one as long as I can remember?!)?

I don't think there is anything better than when Ava is doing something or I've been out of the room, and then sees me . . .and the smile she gets on her face and her eyes that says "That's my mom!!!!" It makes anything and everything else worth it

I have always wanted to be a momma. When James says, "mommy I love you" and when he misses me when he stays at grandma's, my heart melts.

Can I comment even though I'm not a mom? I really want to be a mom someday! I'm so thankful for the relationship I have always had with my mom, and it makes me very excited to have that same kind of relationship with my child (hopefully a daughter, just one girl Lord, please!!!)

i'm glad i'm a mom because it just fits me. i like the variety of things i get to do: cook, paperwork, decorate, organize, research, teach, not cleaning-hate that, but overall i like how i didn't have to pick one profession to do all the time. i don't have a hard time feeling like i know what my purpose in life is either. it's always staring me in the face. plus, i just like little kids.

also, i'm glad i'm an AUNT because i have 4 (1 still in the belly:)) amazing nieces and nephews. they already teach me things...josh is just at that stage where he'll say, "Tami, I want to talk"...he's poured out his little heart to me a couple times and he's simply amazed me!!! those are the golden days to me and i just LOVE my little kiddies.

I am glad I am a mom when they crawl into your lap and try to share the soggy cracker they have been chewing on. The unconditional love that I get from my children makes my heart swell and feel like it will explode from my chest. It is just amazing sometimes

Why am i glad to be a mom? that's a BIG question!? and actually, i've never thought about it before. honestly, there are days when i'm not glad i'm a mom. i miss my job at the hospital where i got to use my brain and got rewarded for a job well-done, and i came home with a paycheck. i miss getting up and getting ready (without interruption) grabbing a coffee and heading to work. i miss alone time with my husband. scheduling dates without scheduling a babysitter.....BUT i wouldn't trade this job for anything!!!! nothing compares to the fine line between joy and misery that comes with motherhood. it's something i've never known until now. i LOVE my little Sammy, he is such a blessing. He truly is a gift to us. and i think the reason why i'm glad i'm a mom is because it's taught me to see my Heavenly Father in such a new way. i've had to lean on Him in ways i never imagined. it's taught me how to be unselfish (i'm still working on this one!)
just today i woke up thinking about how much i love my son. i just want to squeeze on him and love, love, love him! he probably gets sick of all the kisses i give him. i love his cozy pajamas and his sleepy smell when he wakes up in the morning. and i thought, "is God that excited about me?" and He told me He is, i am His daughter and He loves me more than i love my son. something i can hardly wrap my brain around-such amazing love.

well, that's my answer! sorry so long!
thanks megan!

There is nothing I can say that each of you mom's haven't all ready thought of or felt, but I love being a mom at night, when Jenna is laying in bed and I'm rubbing her hair until she falls asleep and my heart just fills with joy, love and peace while watching her drift off to sleep. In those moments I realize how much I am going to need God's wisdom and instruction to help raise this 2 year old to be a loving follower of Christ because there is nothing I want more than to be able to spend eternity with my kids.
