The Battle of M&M

I have been waging war all week long. We are nearing the end of the battle and I think I lost!

Let me explain:

Last week I met some friends at Fired Up to paint pottery. Some of us brought snacks. I brought a LARGE bag of peanut M&Ms. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, Jessica brought M&Ms as well (a smaller bag). Her bag was the one that was opened and eaten. Mine came home with me. And the battle began.

I have been eating peanut M&Ms all week long (against my better judgment). They call to me like a siren from the cupboard. I eat them in secret so I don't have to share them with my kiddos. They have made me sick. They sound gross to me. And STILL I eat them.

The bag is almost empty. Do you know what that means? It means I ate a LARGE bag of peanut M&Ms all by myself. I eat them even though I don't want to eat them.

There is only one thing to be done. I must finish the bag. I must purge the house of this temptation that mocks me from the cupboard. I must finish this battle, take the lessons I have learned from this morbid, self-indulgent tale, and move on.

You win peanut M&Ms. You win.

Well Megan, you do take after your dad. I've heard him use that "purge" word a few times in his life. :) Barb

megan,
i have been in the same war with peanut m&ms too! they are so good but they do get to the point where they can be disgusting...why is it that we always eat them alone too?! If we'd let the rest of the family eat some too we probably wouldn't feel so bad about eating them would we?

funny post!

hahaha that is hilarious! I understand! I made chocolate chip cookies on Sunday and I've been the only one to eat them!

Too funny! I also have an never ending battle with peanut M&M's. I REALLY try to only eat a few, but sometimes I cave. Mmmm...speaking of which...I think I may go eat a few in honor of you... :)

My favorite is when I start eating . . .think this is ridiculous (that I'm not even enjoying it) and throw out whatever is it . . .and an hour later am wondering how bad it would be if I pulled it back out of the trash. : )

I confess . . .on a few occasions I have (only when it's resting right on top not touching anything though). ok - you can all go EWWW now.

you know what DOESN't get gross? PEANUT BUTTER m & m's. Now that's a battle I'd concede before I began. : )

Oh how I can relate...it was the malted milk ball eggs this year...I've gone through several bags just over this Easter season..!

Clint just went on a quick grocery run and I BEGGED him to get SWITZERS...he just smiled and said, we'll see! The bad thing is, the reason for the grocery run is to get ingredients to make chocolate chip crumb bars. My are we snacky here!

I finally got smart and had Brett hide my candy stash. Then I'm not tempted to eat the whole bag. He gets a few for me when I'm extra stressed, which earns him husband points. Everyone wins!

Oh Megan, my dear friend...had I known it was going cause you so much turmoil I would have gladly opened your bag before mine...I did go home with about half of the bag that night (which I was kind of excited about!) I even ate some on my LONG ride home :) 1 mile is longer than some may think!
I took my half eaten bag on a ride with my sister the next day...and can you belive I LEFT THE BAG in her car!!! She enjoyed them on her way home to Chicago...it's ok, her size 2 frame can use the calories much better than my size XX frame :)

Uh, you sound like me! I hate when a holiday that involves candy comes around...b/c that means a lot of candy is now calling me to eat it! Not good for trying to get rid of that (Morgan) fat on my tummy. I try to keep it out of my house b/c I hear it all 24 hours of the day!

so i'm like that with pretty much anything sweet, but the absolute WORST is those chewy werthers caramels! just thinking about it about makes me want to DIE! i don't think i've had any in about 5 months and before that it was probably around 3 years because i seriously eat the whole bag in about 2 sittings! it's absolutely disgusting. i make myself so sick that i vow to never buy a bag again. i can't even look at them in the grocery aisle. then about 3 or 4 years later i see them, remembering them as old friends, wondering how their doing, tinking, "it's about time we had a little visit, right?" so the tragedy begins....again.

Story of my life! Though mine wouldn't be in the cupboard but in the freezer. They are good frozen!
So now I leave them at the store.....or at least try!

I can relate. I have been blaming it on the weather, that or PMS is my usual excuse...I have no self-control issues of course!
