I always knew the day would come. I just didn't think it would come this soon.
Mya: Mom, when do I get my own phone in my room?
Mommy: What are you talking about? Why do you need your own phone - you only know your own phone number?! Where did you get that idea?
Mya: *** has her own phone and she was telling me about it. Can you teach me ***'s phone number?
Mommy: Uhh, maybe later.
And then yesterday, she up and asked for another "big ticket" item.
"Mommy, when can I have my own camera? An adult camera. Not those little kids ones that play music."
I think my little girl is growing up. I can only guess what she will be asking for next...

Oh man, it's only going to get worse with her going to school! :)
Love your "Listening In"! Cute!!
We've been here...
princess camera(birthday gift). walmart. $12.97. (Takes old-school film, but let me tell ya- joy for MONTHS!)
lol...too cute! FYI...my parents said I couldn't have a phone in my room either, so I just went out and bought one so they couldn't tell me NO. :) Although I was like 14 but still...just a warning!
That's too funny, Megan!
Oh Mya - what will we do with you!! :)
Oh my word! She really is growing up. Maybe she wants a phone in her room to call her Aunt Kasey just to chat. That would be a good reason for a phone!
what's the big deal? i say get her the phone and camera.
:)
If it was Danielle that Mya said had a phone, rest assured that it's a play one! I see the 12-year old kids in the neighborhood riding around on their bikes while talking on their cell phones and I wonder... "How long before they crash right into a street light?" and "Who is she talking to?" Whatever happened to just enjoying a bike ride? It's gotta be more dangerous than talking on a mobile phone while driving a car... Anyway, Mya is so cute.
