It was actually centered in West Salem which is the southern part of Illinois. But I do hear that it rattled some buildings downtown! And a joint popped in one of our busy roads up here! Crazy. I do remember an earthquake a long while ago when I was probably still in grade school. We were eating dinner at the time. On the news they said that they occur every 10 to 20 years, so I was probably 10 yrs when that happened. Crazy stuff!Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10328088376644405737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759469.post-1353121174583002762008-04-19T14:31:00.000-07:002008-04-19T14:31:00.000-07:00We did not feel it, must be the new baby. Things always seem worst at night then during the day. By the time he woke up, of course it was over. He said there was no earthquake so of course I believed him and thought I was crazy. An hour later he could tell that I was still stirring. He asked if I was still thinking about the earthquake. No, my stress had moved on to other things. If only I could give ALL my cares to God. It is something I think I'll be working on the rest of my life.

~HaleyTater & Haleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16571395521361847817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759469.post-87881683579893372352008-04-18T12:41:00.000-07:002008-04-18T12:41:00.000-07:00We slept through it, much to our dismay. Is it a mom function that hasn't switched on in my brain yet? Is it too positive an attitude? I woke up (it was just about 3 minutes before my alarm goes off for work anyway), we thought it was wind, and I went back to sleep, kind of vaguely dreaming how great it would be if it was time to go HOME and that the lamps and bed shaking was part of it!

Now all day, I've just been kind of marvelling how crazy this is- we get the excitement of an earthquake without the damage or injuries! However, I had trouble falling back asleep because I wondered if our furnace was going to blow up! Then I wondered if it did, would we be killed or just maimed. The things you worry about at night!

That Simon!
